NEP 2020 IS PRECISELY WHAT INDIA NEEDS TO DOMINATE THE FUTURE AND DRIVE GROWTH AND PROSPERITY.
but in the extraordinary year of 2020 the cabinet passed New education bill that will change the education sector of our country, The policy changes proposed the nep 2020 could lead to better learning and employment outcomes. It will provide India with professional labor and increase the skilled human capital from which we can have a high demographic dividend.
Higher education in our country is under crises yes we have 3.74 cr undergrad students studying in 51649 institutions but not all of them produce quality students I mean we can literally count the good universities on our fingers, but still, something is better than nothing, according to mhrd our gross enrollment ratio is 26.3% which is one-fourth of all the students in India. This basically means that we have 91 lakh graduates in our country every year which already makes it the world's largest education system..
- Under this system, we have female representation slightly higher than the male which is 26.4 compared to 26.3.
- SC community enrollment rate is 14.9 against their population to 16.6
- ST community enrollment rate is 5.5 against 8.6
- OBC is 36 to 40.9
- MINORITIES, however, show us a grim figure which is 7.5 against 20.2 of their population now this is a huge gap.
- AISHE which does the survey specifically for Muslims reports that Muslims represent only 5.2GER against 15% of the population.
- from the data, it is clear that the minority's social mobility is decreasing and they will be left behind in the social ladder bcoz they won't be able to get the social justice.
KEY FEATURES OF NEP 2020
- It grants more autonomy to universities like academic, administrative and financial decisions.
- Formation of national research foundation(NRF)the reason why we import intellectual property from abroad is that we don't spend enough on research.R&D is the most imp thing for a developing country bcoz every country has its own problem and to solve them and create a prosperous future we need to spend more on R&D.
- It gives the top-notch universities incentives to produce more Ph.D. students currently we have 40800 Ph.D. per year we quickly have to reach 50000 a year mark.
- Better infrastructure which will include more labs, sports, hostel facilities.
- it will allow foreign universities to set up in India, but that won't be enough we have to give them some incentive bcoz more than 7.5 lakh students study abroad every year and it cost 20 billion a year its a huge sum.
the reason why no Indian university is among the best the 10-20 university is bcoz of the conflict of interest.which means our govt-funded universities' primary goal is to educate as many students as possible so they compromise at quality over quantity.
- set up of national scholarship program
now u must be thinking what this has to do with financial markets well NEP will build 1 multidisciplinary university in a district every year which means realty companies will benefit.
online education will boom
HE finance corp will issue a bond for raising capital, hence there are many opportunities after the NEP 2020.
The proper implementation of reforms and ideas envisioned in the NEP 2020 will fundamentally transform India.
